This Sunday we honor the interconnected web of life. We will recognize Ostara, the Pagan holiday celebrating new beginnings and the spring equinox, and we will bless the special animal companions that enrich our lives. Whether you are onsite or online, you’re invited to bring your animal companions for this multigenerational service.*
Everyone is also invited to stay after the service for an informational and inspirational presentation about the importance of native plants and gardens. Featuring Naomi Edelson from the National Wildlife Federation, this presentation is part of the Sacred Grounds grant to plant a native plants garden at Davies in the Fall. She will also tell us about an opportunity for everyone at Davies to receive a free native plant to grow in their gardens or window boxes at home.
*More details about the animal blessing: For everyone’s safety and comfort, including those with allergies, pets must remain leashed or otherwise contained while onsite. Photos of animals, including those we have said goodbye to, are most welcome, as are special stuffed animals! Room 3 will be available as an overflow space for more active or vocal pets whose humans wish to remain connected to the service by Zoom.
…and, if you plan to bring a living non-mammalian companion, please give Pastor Kirk a gentle heads up.
March’s Spiritual Theme is “The Practice of Trust.”
