A Celebration of Purim: The Story of Esther

This Sunday we will recognize Purim, a joyous Jewish holiday that commemorates Queen Esther’s courage in saving her people in ancient Persia. This will be a multigenerational, highly interactive service. Through storytelling, crafts, and baking, we’ll explore why this tale has been told for over two thousand years. Together, we’ll reflect on its lessons of bravery and standing up for what’s right—while also embracing the fun of sharing sweet treats. No matter your background, you’re invited to celebrate this time of joy, justice, and community with us!

Those onsite will be invited to help tell the story, bake hamantaschen, and decorate crowns. Online participants are invited join in the baking and decorating as well! Here’s a hamantaschen recipe you might like to use.

Those onsite are also invited to stay after the service for Soup Sunday!

March’s Spiritual Theme is “The Practice of Trust.”
