Thoughts About Prayer
June 28, 2023 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm
Fourth Wednesdays at 7pm
This gathering invites participants to explore the nature and meaning of prayer in our daily lives and how it strengthens us as Unitarian Universalists. In a faith tradition that has sometimes been dismissive of the practice, we’ll uncover the benefits of prayer in our own liberal, open-minded, always-curious congregation. Facilitated by member Steve Loudermilk. Access the conversation online HERE.
This month’s discussion is entitled “Praying Attention.” We will be examining a sermon by Rev. Craig M. Nowak of Brookfield Unitarian Universalist Church.
“Prayer, as an act of giving attention, is a way of communicating, engaging, and appreciating life, the good, the bad and the vast in between at any moment in time.”
The sermon is available for advance reading HERE. But if you aren’t able to read it in advance, you can still participate in the discussion Wednesday, June 28, 7pm. See you there!
