Join us for an in-house showing of Ava DuVernay’s film series When They See Us on the first four Fridays in August. Light refreshments and an hour of facilitated conversation will follow the showing of each episode. Participants are welcome to come to one or all of the gatherings.

The final showing, on Friday, August 23, will coincide with our monthly meeting of ADORE (A Dialogue on Race and Ethnicity) and will include a more in-depth conversation.

When They See Us is a 2019 miniseries based on events from the 1989 Central Park jogger case. It follows the lives of five black teenagers, known as the Central Park 5, who were prosecuted in 1990 on false charges related to the rape and assault of a woman in Central Park, New York City, the year before.
