In 1942, shortly after the United States formally entered World War II, Rev A. Powell Davies wrote: “The challenge is immediate and imperious… More than ever since the dawn of history, it is a time for definition and for reckoning.” On this first Sunday of the “Preaching Along the Potomac” series, the Davies Congregation will host UUs from around the National Capital Region. Together, we will reflect on our namesake’s words and legacy. We will ask: what are we called to do now, in a time such as this?
