Rev. Kirk W. Freeman (he/him) has been our minister since September 2023. Pastor Kirk graduated from Wesley Theological Seminary where he was awarded the James Morris Miller Award in Ethics. While a seminarian, Kirk served as a Chaplain Intern at the Clinical Center of the National Institutes of Health and as a ministerial intern at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Rockville, MD. He was ordained by All Souls Church, Unitarian, in Washington, DC.

Kirk is a member of the UUA’s President’s Council, as well as the leadership teams of the Chesapeake Chapter of the Unitarian Universalist Ministers Association and UU Allies for Racial Equity.

He lives in Washington, DC, with his spouse, Betsy Quilligan, who is passionate about her work as a postpartum doula, business owner, and OWL-trained comprehensive sexuality educator. Together they are raising two tweens and two tuxedo cats. Kirk loves music, laughter, deep conversations, and getting into good trouble.
