Davies Concert Series: CAAPA
January 31 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
The Coalition for African Americans in the Performing Arts (CAAPA) presents “From Cosi to Charade: Musical Journey of Euro, Afro and American Music.” Travel in musical time from Mozart’s original love opera “Così fan tutte” to today’s challenging social times with music spanning generations from European to African American selections. The narrated presentation journeys through history and includes music by Mozart, Puccini, and other European composers to American music, to today’s most contemporary Neo Soul performer D’Angelo, whose music “Really Love” and “The Charade” speaks to our challenging social justice times. The concert asks audience members the question: “Are the music and the messages really that different?” Access this free, virtual concert HERE.
