ADORE: A Dialogue on Race and Ethnicity

A forum where we explore our feelings on racial and ethnic issues to learn more about ourselves and about people who may have different feelings.

Open Discussion Period: Participants are encouraged to discuss events that prompted them to reflect on their own racial identity. Facilitator’s Discussion Questions:

· What is “white privilege?” Have you personally witnessed incidents of “white privilege?” Is it possible to end white privilege via non-violent demonstrations? (Reading provided)

· What is your take-away from UUA President Rev. Susan Frederick-Gray’s essay: “No Time for A Casual Faith” (Reading Provided)

· What is your take-away from the article: “Ole Miss Faculty vote to move Confederate Statue?” Is the University of Mississippi ahead of the times, and if so, in what way? (Reading Provided)

Optional potluck at 6:30 P.M 

Discussion begins at 7:00 P.M.
