A Dialogue in Race and Ethnicity (ADORE)

This is a group discussion in which we explore our feelings on race and ethnicity issues in order to learn more about ourselves and improve our inter-racial interactions. 

Optional Potluck – 6:30pm 

Discussion – 7:00 – 9:00pm

Open Discussion Period

Participants encouraged to share experiences that have prompted them to reflect on their race, ethnicity or gender. 

Facilitator-Led Discussions: 

1.    To help solve the problem of racism in America, should we begin Anti-racism training of children in grammar school?

2.    Should (all, some, none) of the Confederate (Rebel) symbols (statues, flags, road-signs, etc.) be removed from public property?  (Reading provided)

3.    Some people say”; We (black and white people) are more alike than different.”  What do you think about this saying and why? (Reading provided)

4.    What is your understanding of the “Trump Effect” on our Presidential election process? (Reading provided)
