As part of the regular Sunday service, Martha Ainsworth, Chair of the Sierra Club’s Prince George’s County Group will discuss with the congregation how the Group is working to respond to local environmental issues. In particular, she’ll be highlighting their work on “zero waste” — to reduce litter on our roads and waterways, and the need for landfills and incinerators — and recent efforts to prevent the environmental damage and human health impact of hydraulic fracturing in Southern Prince George’s County (as well as Charles County). Join us for a discussion of these and other important issues that impact our Local Web of Life.
