Can You Hear Me Now?

When people speak about racism, they picture cross burnings, people in white sheets with hoods, people being beaten with clubs and being attacked by police dogs. However, there is a more pervasive form of racism that people of color encounter every day. It is unintentional racism. It exists because we have lived in a white supremacy culture for a very long time and although people are sincere in the wish for a just and equal society, they may not realize that they, unconsciously, carry this attitude with them. Let us look at some examples of this.
